NWU Grafitti

So I was reading my new issue of Juxtapoz, and it was all about grafitti. And it reminded that I hadn't done a piece in a long time. So I gave it a shot. I wipped this up in a couple minutes. And then spent twice as long trying to color it. And the coloring didn't turn out great. Coloring was always my weakest area. In case you can't tell it says NWU.

As a little bonus. I took a picture of a framed graphitti piece i did a couple years ago. It was a big hit in the class I did it for. It was actually picked as the best in the class, and entered into the school show.

Upates and another CD cover

So I was already to back into the swing of things with the blog. I was back from vacation, and didn't have much going. I was doing new pages, and constantly updating. But then as soon as I got back, my old job contacted me, and not being able to turn some more money, I had to go back. So the post might be light again for a while.

As far that image up there. I finished demoing songs for my new Ambient EP. I don't have a name for it yet. My temporary title is Ambiotic, but that will most likely change. I wanted to work on a cover for it, so I came up with this little ditty. I wanted something really simple, to represent the style of music. I think it's turning out OK so far. I will definately work on it some more in the future. In case your wondering here are the songs that are going to appear on the EP:

Coming Days

Before I start a new page I usually try to warm up my hands and draw something in my sketchbook. I did this today. I also felt like it had been a long time since the blog had gotten a good finished piece of original art. Hopefully there will be more of these in the coming days.

Aunts&Uncles

So the next part of Sam that I need to draw includes his aunt and uncle, and I needed to design them, but I was really putting that off. So I finally got around to doing that. So I can finally start working on Sam again. Here they are. Nothing spectacular. I just wanted them to look ordinary and slightly old. I'm sure their designs will get tweeked before I finally put them on paper, but this will be close. I did about 4 or 5 drawings for each character, but these were the two best. I also did this with a new kind of Micron pen, that I am totally loving at the moment. I might use it for the entirety of Sam. Hopefully there will be more tomorrow.

Joker

So when I was at comic-con I noticed that everyone had a Joker drawing in the artist alley, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It turned out OK. I think he kind of looks like an Asian Joker.

The Island

So I'm back from the island. I've been back for a couple days now, but just needed to unwind a little before I got back to the blog. I've been doing drawings, and should be posting them in the coming days. I just wanted to post to post some pics I took from my Island trip.
