Water Color

I did some water color portraits a year so back, and I've been meaning to put them on the internet for some time, but never really got around too it. I'll probably be posting them on my DeviantArt page tomorrow. Here's a close up of one.

Digital Sketch

So here is something a little different. You may have seen the piece i posted over at the DeviantArt page. Well basically I'm starting this new kind of art series. This is a view of the new of one of the new pieces I'm working on in the outline mode. I though it looked kind of cool. Check back in a couple days for the finished version.

Nerve Center

No art today, sorry. I thought I would post a picture of the nerve center of the NeworldUniverse. This is where pretty much all of the NeworldUniverse is put together. Some areas of note are:
1. The full size Darjeeling Limited poster.
2. A list of all the things left to do for the new Wolves Album.
3. A new poster I designed a printed out that is the start of a new art series (the tree looking thing), and yes I hang my own work in my room (I'm terribly narcissistic).
4. The Limited edition Locust tour poster, which is probably my favorite poster in my room.
5. My Tiki god from hawaii (it's very small underneath my desk lamp).
6. A midnight (well 2 o'clock) snack of cranberry juice and toast (toast not pictured). Yum.

Correction, Lion, Roar

So apparently there has been a change of plans. Due to legal reasons Neil Electric and the Kid had to change their name, so they have changed their name to Lion, Roar. But yah, so since earlier today, I kinda changed my focus for the covers, I tried to do some vector stuff tonight. I really like the multi color cloud one. We'll have to see what mr. Askounis says though.

Neil Electric And The Kid

I've been working on the cover artwork for the neil electric and the kid ep. I've done numerous sketches and stuff, nothing I've been terribly trilled with so far. I think I'm going to just have to keep plugging away at it. Here is one attempt at the cover, as well as several sketches for other ideas.

More Covers

Here is jus the inks to the issue 1 cover. At least I think it's going to be. I could reconsider, but I think this is the one. It's actually a little similar to to the issue 3 cover, but oh well. The theme is it's representing is pretty much the same.
Also it's probaly not apparant in this unfinished state, but this cover is very Mignola inspired, with the separated panels on the cover, and the smaller elements in panels below the main cover. Hopefully I'll have a more finished version tomorrow.

Cover Sketches

Here are 2 designs I did for Sam covers. I must have done like 20+ sketches today of cover Ideas. You can see two finished covers over at the neworlder deviantArt page (though I'm not sure I'm gonna use the second one). There will be a third one posted tomorrow. It's a version of the cover design on the right. Though it's quite different than that one. I think just for fun, i'm going to do a version of that drawing as well. I'm having a lot of fun working on these Sam covers they have been turning out great.

First Steps

I was working on this cover a bunch a today. This was a version of it in it's early stages, pretty much right after I finished the paper and ink stuff. You can see the final version over at DeviantArt. I thought the final version turned out amazing.

Zing Zang Zadan

Sorry for lack of updates. Smash Bros has been kicking my butt. Already beat the game, and got all 14 unlockable characters, so that's good. Or not. But I felt guilty that I've been negelecting the blog, so I thought I'd spruce it up by doing a little original drawing here. Hope you enjoy, I'll try and get back to work tomorrow.

Soooooooooooo. I got Super Smash Brothers today. So blog posting might be a little sparse while I'm playing it. It's a pretty good time so far.

The Penis Mightier

Caution: Word heavy Post!!!So today, I did something I haven't done for a while. I sat down and started writing (well sort of). With the next Sam short already written (Sam: Years 1-17), Devin and I's Iatrogenesis script, and the Creatures Project, I really haven't had any need to write. Now I'm not all caught up by any means, but I just thought I should get back into it so I don't get rusty. The funny thing is I really didn't do any writing. Well I did, but not for any script. I finally got the plot for issues 1-4 of Sam totally finished. Tough once I finished that, I decided that readers might be lost on how Sam goes from Chapter 4 to 5, so I also wrote an outline for a short Chapter 4 epilogue which should explain everything. I even started writing ideas for Chapter 7 which will be the start of the next big arc. All this planning got me really excited. I can't wait to dive into this story. I think it's gonna be really good. Look for Sam: Years 1-17 to surface in a couple weeks. It's the first 7 pages from chapter 1 and serves as sort of self contained prelude to the Sam series.

Oh on a side note, I've been talking to a couple people about working on a pitch for Zuda comics. So expect some news on that in the coming weeks.

Squid VS Whale

Here is a page from the upcoming creatures project. It's been reduced and I took the background out. Some of the pages are turning out good. It's going fast too, I've already got like 7 pages worked out.

Creatures are coming

So this is a promo thing for a new art book I'm working on tentatively called creatures. It's basically just gonna be a series of weird little things that I come up with. The drawings are somewhat simple, and there is no story so this project shouldn't be all that time consuming. The book is going to feature all sorts of drawing styles from hand drawn to completely vector done pieces. I'll post some updates in the coming days about it.

Zuda

I got this post card at Wondercon. It said you could get your stuff shown on the internet, so I thought wtf, I'll send it in and see I can get a little free publicity. I'm also seriously considering submitting a pitch to Zuda. Though I don't want to use any of my current concepts, so I feel like I really need to come up with something new, but nothing is really coming to mind. If anyone has a good pitch for Zuda, let me hear it.

Update

Here is a blow up of a panel from a page from Iatrogenesis issue 1. I'm closing in on completeling issue 1. Should only be a week or two before it's done. It's turning out pretty good so far. I'm interested to see what people will think.

Give me all mice titles

So here is a little fan art for the comic Mouse Guard. I was reading it yesterday, and was thinking how much I strangely really enjoy a comic about mice fighting with little swords. So here is a little fan art. Also the titles a little inside joke.
