Scribing

So here are a couple characters from Sam. All drawn up nice. No real reason for the picture. Just thought I'd do something extra for this post. For some reason this drawing took forever.

But now to the krux of this post. So I've put it off as long as I can, but now I'm finally writing the first chapter of Sam. The stuff I've been writing so far has been kind of boring so that hasn't helped, but I finished writing all the boring set up stuff last night, and Tonight I'm gonna work on all the cool action stuff, and the parts where the story get interesting.

I've been working on it for the past couple days. Been going back and changing stuff, doing a little research. Stuff like that. So the posts may be a little light while I finish that up. And after all that's done. I'll start working on actual pages. I'll try to get a lot of stuff done, while Early Years is going on so I'll have a ton of post when I get back to regular stuff. I've got a lot of influences for Sam so I'll be posting about that stuff.

Early Years 7/04-7/10

So I didn't post yesterday, but I think this post will make up for the lack of update yesterday. Here is the final version of the sketch i posted a couple days ago. It's an ad/cover kind of. Since Early Years is just a section of pages from Chapter 1 that act like a short story, there won't be a specific cover, but this kind of works as one.

So yah, as the Ad says it starts next friday (4th of July), and as always it will run for a week, and each day will have commentary on each page. This story won't get posted over at the NWU website because it's part of Chapter 1, so you'll only be able to read it here.

As for the actual drawing of the ad. There is a lot of symoblism from the story in there. The drawing turned out better than I expected. I really like it. I took that tan bar off like 3 times, but decided to leave it on. I think it makes it look kind of like a movie poster. Hope you enjoy the story next week.

ROAR!

Here are the NWU stickers vol.3. For the awesome band Lion, Roar! I've been posting stuff about LR for a while because I've been working on the album cover for his EP Houston We Have A Solution. Which is up for download somewhere, but I'm not sure where. It's good. Check out his myspace if you get the chance. Apparantly he's already working on the follow up. The Bad Guy

So here is another random thing from my sketch book. I did this at least a month or two ago.
It's the big bad guy from Sam. I still haven't given him a name yet. I've been listening to Lost podcast a lot, I'm thinking it should be a literary reference.

Lion, Roar!

So I've been working on the artwork for Lion, Roar! ep. I've done a ton of different versions. This is my favorite one I've worked on so far. We'll see what Devin says.

Where Corn Meets Cob

So I was traipsing around Devin's garage today, and i saw a stack of posters from his place in San Diego and I noticed this poster. It was a commission I did for him last year. I still think this poster is hilarious. he told me what what he wanted it to say, and I did it for him.

So I felt bad about not posting for a couple days so here is a panel from a page I did the other day. I really love the expression on his face in this drawing.

NWU sticker set numero dos. These turned out way better than I thought they were gonna. My only problem with them was that the logo didn't come out great, but the next one will feature the logo pretty predominately.

Sivart Thomas

So a long time ago in a Universe far far away I created a created series called Neworld. And in that series was a character called Sivart Thomas who was based off of my friend Travis. It's been a while since I drew anyone from neworld. Let alone a character that played such a small part, but there is a reason.

This was another pencil drawing I found in my sketch book that I decided to finally get around to inking. I think it turned out OK. I didn't want to color it, but I had to put in travis' trademark purple polo. This version doesn't look as much like Travis as the first one, but I still think it looks awesome. For the next couple days I'm going to be posting random things from sketch book.

Oh YAH! Big update coming in the next couple days.

Heart In Hand

So I was bored today, and feeling a little inspired so I did a drawing of good ole Zeb. Still don't know if we'll ever see an actual OZC story, but it will definately be epic if we do. I thought this drawing turned out great.

ALSO. I've started another blog. It's for my podcast Blank Of the Week. The podcast is called BlankBlog. This blog will be a little different than Water Blogged. I started it and will be pretty much be running it, but I've already employed several other members. Travis and Chris from Blank will also be doing stuff. Also honorary 4th memeber Eddie Hoey will be participating, and I'm planning on asking our friend Jared (aka Poser) to work on the blog as well. So check that out. Here is a link. Stray Sketches

This was a sketch that was sitting in my sketch book for some time. Last night I randomly started putting some ink on it, and this morning I put some colors on it. I'm thinking about jumping back into Sam for a little while. I found another un-inked sketch today that I think I'm gonna finish up, so look for that tomorrow.

Wolves

So I decided to make a new logo for my music identity Wolves. Here is a little process for you. I also did this because I'm going to make some stickers at work with a machine we have. Here are some of the stickers I'm making. They should be cool, and available soon. Email me if you're interested.
I'm also going to design a couple other stickers. There is definately gonna be a Neworlduniverse one, and specially maybe a Iatrogenesis one.
