This was gonna be the cover to the first issue of Iatrogenesis, but I thought it was way too goofy. So i'm gonna re-draw it.

So in case you don't know. I'm gonna have a little booth/section/i'm not sure what, at the SDSU fall show. It looks like I'm gonna be selling limited edition posters. All signed and numbered, and every poster comes in a different color. I'm also going to be selling the Sam short story Blades and Bullets, also I think it will come with an insert of the Ivory Rose. I'm also gonna try to have some of the specialty printed versions of the Water Closet on hand to read.

Color

Here's the color version. I love this page.

Black & White

Here is a black and white version of the first page of Iatrogenesis. I was a little skeptical of how this was gonna turn out at first, but I've already done the color version, and it looks so cool. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it looks very good.

Palette

To most people this is going to be the lamest post you've ever seen, but it's a very important post process wise. This is the working color palette. I may change the color palette for each issue. I've got some very cool ideas about how color is going to work in this series. I think for the most part each page will be monochromatic. The colors will help express point of view, and what the main character is seeing. In the past I haven't thought a whole lot about color so this will really add another whole element to the story telling.

The Ivory Rose

This is something I started a while ago. I got a lot of it done in the first day or two, but then it took me forever to finish it. I think it turned out amazing. It's one of the the best things I think I've done. You can read the full story here. Sorry it's on Deviant and not here, I just didn't want to do that whole page a day thing again. I hope this makes up for the lack of updates.

P.S. Me and Devin have the first issue all worked out for Iatrogenesis. I'm gonna start working on pages very soon.

Inception

Here is the logo for the new Sam short series, that talks about the origins of the Sam universe. The first 4 page short story is almost done. Look for that soon.

Re-iatro

Check some more sketches for George the main character of Iatro. Me and Devin went out and did some shooting for the project. It's coming along really nicely. I talked to Devin about doing some of the drawings himself. He seemed a tad apprehensive, but I think I'll get him to come around. I know I've posted a lot of sketches for this, but I think me and Devin both agree the is is really the direction we want to go in for the main character George. Hopefully I'll have even more info on Iatro tommorrow.

P.S. I've got some big news on the Sam front as well.

Type

So me and Devin had a Pow Wow about what's going on with Iatrogenesis. Through some miss communication on my part apparently I never sent him my final revisions of the script (which I thought I had) so nothing much had been going on with the project. But we got back on target. I sent him some more sketches I had done, and he loved those (I'll post those tomorrow). We have plans to work on more stuff tomorrow. I should be posting more about this project in the coming days. And last but not least enjoy a super fancy version of the Iatrogenesis logo.

Print

I'm messing my pants about these. I just made the first print version for Sam. It turned out so good. It really looks amazing as you can see by these pictures (even though seeing pictures of it really doesn't do it the justice of holding it). Doing this made me really think about specialty print versions for the water closet. I recently found out that at the fall show this semester at SDSU they are going to let the people in the design studio sell stuff. So I think I'm going to make up some special hand made editions of stuff from the water closet (with some variant covers) and some self made posters and I'm going to sell those. Hopefully I'll have some leftovers to give away (or sell) to other people. We'll see how it all turns out.

Nemesis

This is the obligatory bad guy for the Sam series, even though he's not going to appear in the new short story, I thought it would be a good guy to sketch him. I really wanted him to have long black hair, and all white costume. My original thought was to make him huge, but then I decided to go slim. Also while I was drawing I had a great idea, and made his sword red, watch for what's going on with that, it's going to be cool. Also more background experimentation. I think this is defiantely my favorite application so far.

Sam Dad

Here is another sketch from my Sam sketch series or whatever. This one isn't very developed. But it's getting there. I'm experiment more and more with coloring. I got that cool grainy effect from sharpening the picture way to much. It might be something i work with in the future. More later.

June

Here are some sketches for the female lead of my new book Sam. She is Sam's girlfriend. She's from Japan, the one drawing is of here in a school girl uniform, and the other one is just normal attire. Check back tomorrow for more sketches from Sam.

lil SAM

So I finally got my ass off the couch and started working on stuff. I started writing and sketching for Sam. I also came up with a cool way to fill in the long break from now until Issues of all these projects start coming out. In a couple weeks I'm gonna do another blog exclusive. It's going to be called SAM: Ages 01-17. It will serve as the back story to Sam. Here's a sketch of Young Sam.

Guitar Hiro

So, yah, not a whole of posting going on lately. Sorry about that. A number of factors (cough guitar hero cough) have left me very busy and doing very little drawing. But seriously folks school and work have been crazy this last week, but I'm gonna try and get some work done this weekend so the lack of posting wont be as bad this week. Oh yah, that's not a typo up there, it's supposed to be Hiro from heroes playing guitar hero. Bazzing.
